Gaming headsets can enhance your experience with your Xbox Series X or Xbox One, especially when playing competitive games. And one of the main perks of Microsoft's commitment to backwards compatibility is that every Xbox headset released for Xbox One works on Xbox Series X. That said, the Xbox Series X also ushered in new and advanced gaming headsets along with it. Yes, all of them also work on Xbox one. You have tons of options to choose from, but we've whittled down the options to find the best Xbox gaming headsets.

Gaming headsets differ from traditional headphones in that they almost always come with microphone--sometimes it's detachable, but you'll need it when chatting with others online. They often include a mixing dial, as well, letting you fine-tune the level of the game audio versus the chat.

One perk of owning an Xbox is that some of its finest gaming headset options are able to connect without a USB dongle, just like a controller. These headsets are also capable of turning your console on when powered up. With how sleek the new consoles look, it's always nice when you don't have to add a USB stick to the front of them. One of our favorite Xbox headsets, the SteelSeries Arctis 9X, is capable of doing exactly this and is well worth its hefty price tag. There are also wired options available that plug into the Xbox Series X controller, which can save you cash if you're not bothered by the cord.

There are also a number of great budget Xbox gaming headset options that are much more affordable at the cost of some lost bells and whistles. These include the SteelSeries Arctis 1 wireless, which works with every platform including the PS5 and Nintendo Switch; the Corsair HS70 Bluetooth, which connects to your controller via mm cable and your smartphone via Bluetooth; and the Scuf H1, which features a number of customization options to personalize your experience and look.

If you're looking for more Xbox accessories that are compatible with the newest consoles, check out our guide to the best Xbox Series X|S controllers for and best Xbox accessories.

Update your Astro A40 headset for Xbox Series X|S

The Astro A40 headset requires some firmware updating and configuration to work with an Xbox Series X|S console. Follow these steps to configure your headset.

Step 1: Install and open the Astro Command Center software

First, you’ll need to download the Astro Command Center software from the Astro support site:

  1. On the Astro support page, scroll down to the Astro Command Center Software section, and select either Download ACC for PC or Download ACC for Mac.
  2. Open the downloaded file to launch the Astro Command Center Startup Wizard.
  3. Select Next on each step of the Startup Wizard.
  4. Choose an installation location for Astro Command Center, and select Install.
  5. If you receive a Windows administrator prompt asking you to allow changes, select Allow.
  6. Select Finish to complete Astro Command Center setup.

The Astro Command Center should automatically open after installation is complete. If it doesn’t, open it manually using Windows search.

Step 2: Update your MixAmp

Before you update your MixAmp, first be sure it is set to PC mode:
  1. If you have a MixAmp with a toggle switch at the top, switch it to PC.
  2. If your MixAmp doesn’t have a toggle switch, hold down the power button for 3 seconds until the light switches to white to indicate PC mode.
  3. Connect your MixAmp to your PC using a micro USB cable. You will know the connection is successful when the Astro Command Center displays your MixAmp settings details.
  4. You should see a message at the top of the Astro Command Center screen saying a firmware update is available. Select the Update Now button on that message to open a window with update details.

Note If you don’t see the Firmware Update window, select the gear icon in the top-right of the menu, and make sure Check for firmware updates automatically is turned on.

  5. You need to update the firmware to version or later, which specifies “Game-Chat mix audio from XBOX is available now over USB.
  6. Select Update on the Firmware Update window.
  7. Wait for the update to complete, then unplug the MixAmp from your PC.

Step 3: Connect your headset and MixAmp to your console

First connect your Astro A40 headset to your MixAmp, then connect to your console:
  1. Plug the auxiliary cable included with your headset (referred to as the Inline Mute Cable in the documentation) into the headphone jack on the left earphone of the headset. Be sure to plug the end of the cable that’s closest to the cable’s mute toggle into the headset.
  2. Plug the other end of the auxiliary cable into the headphone jack at the bottom of the MixAmp (the jack with a small headphone symbol underneath it). You can also plug in the microphone attachment into the left earphone of the headset.
  3. Switch the MixAmp back to Xbox mode, either by switching the toggle switch at the top to Xbox, or (if your MixAmp doesn’t have a toggle switch) holding down the power button for 3 seconds until the light switches to red for Xbox mode.
  4. Plug the MixAmp into one of the USB slots on the back of your Xbox Series X|S using a micro USB cable.
  5. A pop-up message should appear on your Xbox indicating that the headset has been assigned. You can confirm that the headset has been recognized and assigned in the Accessories settings screen on your console (press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories).
Things to keep in mind…
  • You can set your spatial audio mode in Settings > General > Volume & audio output, under the Headset format dropdown menu.
  • Headset audio is controlled via the MixAmp’s physical volume dials. You won’t be able to adjust headset volume or chat/game mix using the Xbox console settings.
  • If you experience issues with your voice not coming through the microphone, make sure it is fully plugged in and the mute toggle on the headset’s auxiliary cord is set to allow voice communication.

Nata took the gel from the next table and asked me to lubricate her pussy with my fingers, which I began to. She herself began to spread her plump hairy lips with her hands and fiddled with her clitoris, which had grown before my. Eyes. She moaned and said what a fellow I am. Then she reached out to my dick and began to knead it for a few minutes.
