Code Geass Lelouch Of Britannia by Calreflector (AU)

Code Geass Funnies by Calreflector (AU)

  • Recommended by Lee
  • Synopsis: A collection of oneshots by the genius that gave us Lelouch of Britannia. Though not 'finished' it's never guaranteed to get updated, so for now it settles into three stories: Schneizel uses the doujinshi market to destroy the rebellion, the Black Knights discuss the finer points of Knightmare based fanservice in the wake of Kallen's capture, and Schneizel and Clovis try to make Lelouch a ladies man. Oh so much Hilarity Ensues.

Code Geass Lelouch of the Redemption by Cortega (Post-R2)

  • Recommended by Chetren
  • Synopsis: Here's the basic rundown: Lelouch gains Charles' Code and reawakens in an abandoned warehouse after being whisked away from the place where he got stabbed by Jeremiah. There he meets a weird and Invisible to Gaydar extradimensional being/God with whom he makes a contract with. Two years later, the world Lelouch built is slowly crumbling and he must "once again wear a mask to bring peace to the world."

Code Geass: Timeless Imprisonment by Blazing Firefox (AU)

  • Recommended by Moberemk
  • Synopsis: A look at a slightly different version of the normal version of events, with the author's spin on the same basic storyline in the show. The biggest difference at the start is that Clovis knows Lelouch is alive, and the story keeps going from that.
  • Comments: Awesome story, and the second-longest Code Geass fanfic out there right now. This is easily on par with Lelouch of Britannia for quality and complexity, and while some characters do get ignored at times the plot itself is impeccable.

Metronome by Lily10

  • Recommended by Hokuto
  • Sypnosis: Snippets of Nunnally's life over the years.
  • Comments: Great prose and writing style, conveys emotion wonderfully, everybody's in character, and in general, very touching. Keep in mind while reading that this was written after turn 18, and contains spoilers; however, this was written before certain revelations.

Scarred But Not Stronger by YamiPaladinofChaos

  • Recommended by Candelabra, Drakyndra
  • Synopsis: Suzaku delivers Nunally to the Emperor.
  • Comments: An incredibly good portrayal of Suzaku directly after the end of Season One, captures his character very well. Will send shivers down your spine.

The Fool Ascendant by Mikomi's Pen

  • Recommended by Candelabra
  • Synopsis: A general oneshot focusing on the relationship between Lelouch, Suzaku and Nunally, using Tarot cards for symbolism and diverging from canon after episode 25 of season one.

Resilience by confoozled1

  • Recommended by Sikon
  • Synopsis: The world two years after Zero Requiem.
  • Comments: An ongoing fanfic focusing on Suzaku as Zero, and attempting to "realistically" portray the aftermath of Lelouch's death instead of settling for the Happily Ever After of the series. Really well-written and in-character.

Code Geass: Age of the Chaotic Truth by CrazyNinjaPenguin

  • Recommended by Entan
  • Synopsis: Post R2. Twenty years after the end, Cornelia's daughter, Princess Ava li Britannia, is disgusted with the now-stagant Britannia. After getting a geass from "D.D." she goes to destroy Zero's lies with the most effective weapon of all: the truth.

The Power of Gods by OregTheMad

  • Recommended by Jity
  • Synopsis: Starting at about episode five of season one, this fiction focuses on Richilieu Marquis Le Dieu, a bored genius type, who one night receives a Geass from one O.O. With this new found ability, he finds himself further investigating the odd behavior of his classmate, Lelouch Lamperouge.
  • Comments: Despite having a generic premise for a protagonist, (Hell, he even does the maniacal laugh in the latest chapter), this is a decently well written story with rather believable and humorous interactions between Richelieu and O.O. The plot, with Chapter Three, seems to be picking up, so the Synopsis may change.

Code Geass: Dirge of Daedalus by Kodai Okuda

  • Recommended by: azul120
  • Synopsis: Taking place 5 years after the end of R2, it basically takes not three but four ideas and runs with them: (1) What would the state of the world (politically and socially) be like in the near-future after Zero Requiem is completed? (2) What would happen is Schneizel broke free of the geass placed upon him by Lelouch? (3) What if the ancient Greek Gods and Heroes of myth were in fact Code Bearers and Geass users? and (4): What if Lelouch really did die, but then found a way to come Back from the Dead? The following story is a war of epic proportions, one that not only engulfs the Code Geass world, but implies the involvement of many others as well...

Code Geass Megiddo by Wing Zero Alpha

  • Recommended by: swtrooper42
  • Synopsis: In a For Want of a Nail story, Lelouch sticks around long enough at the finale of season one to make ensure the Black Knights victory before going after Nunnally. This has unfortunate implications as Schneizel orders the activation of Operation Nero, the detonation of all Sakuradite deposits due to the Black Knights' impending victory. Japan is virtually destroyed as a result and Lelouch is captured and has his memories altered by the Emperor. Five years later, Lelouch is a brilliant general leading Brittania to victory against its enemies. But over the years, the remnants of the Black Knights have built up their strength in preparation for war with Brittania. All they need is a leader, and they know just where to find one.

32 Pickup by Gunpowder Gelatine

  • Recommended by Marlee Cross
  • Synopsis: Basically, Lelouch and Cornelia team up following Marianne's death to find her killer. It's really too early in the story to know exactly where it's going but by the looks of things, Lelouch and Nunnally won't get banished here.
  • Commentary: As I said before, the story is really just getting started, but the first few chapters are really well done and the characterizations of Cornelia and Lelouch are quite good indeed. Just a small warning, there is a little bit of femslash between Cornelia and Marianne but nothing major.

Code Geass: A Different Code by Thanathos

  • Recommended by Marlee Cross
  • Synopsis: Instead of finding C.C. in the capsule at Shinjuku, Lelouch found and recieved his Geass from V.V. This is not the end to the deviations from canon either, which include Lelouch sparing a much more likable Clovis, Kallen discovering Zero's true identity much earlier as well as recieving a geass of her own, Mao tentatively joining Lelouch and Shirley's father surviving Narita. Honestly, nothing major has come of any of these things yet, however they are worth mentioning due to the fact that these things (the last two especially) rarely happen in Code Geass fanfics.
  • Commentary: This is a very interesting AU fic. The scenes between Lelouch and V.V. are fun to read, V.V. himself is characterized quite well. The only major downside being that so far, there has been only one short appearance by C.C., however the way things are going, she may very well come back into the story very soon.

Lelouch of the Revolution by Lilyflower1987

  • Recommended by Marlee Cross, Misticsan.
  • Synopsis: Clovis discovers Lelouch and Nunnally alive in Area 11 long before Shinjuku ever happens and Lelouch winds up having to join the military so that he can be 'useful' to the empire (and also so the Emperor won't try and make use of Nunnally instead).

Lelouch of the Second Chance by kyugan (Time Travel)

  • Recommended by thatguyfromthere
  • Synopsis: Lelouch was quite prepared to die, consigned to going down in history as the Demon Emperor, the target of the world's misery. He wasn't prepared to start over from the beginning.

Revenant by YamiPaladinOfChaos

  • Recommended by Drakyndra, neothoron, GrieverVIII, enviroguy
  • Synopsis: A brutal slaughter at a combined Britannian/Black Knights military base sets off cracks in the fragile peace post-Zero Requiem. Zero, Nunnaly and the remaining Black Knights try to prevent war breaking out once more.

The Demon King by ShadowCell

  • Recommended by Nitramy, Fenrir
  • Synopsis: Was Lelouch really evil? A post-R2 fic revolving around Kallen and her search for answers.
  • Commentary: Not much I can say about this fic, except it is written very well, and nearly everyone is in character (especially C.C.).

Of Monsters And Men by Nate Grey

  • Recommended by Anonymous
  • Synopsis: A For Want of a Nail fic, with the initial change being Nunnally being one of the hostages at Lake Kawaguchi (along with Euphemia, Nina, etc).

In the End by V0ID.

  • Recommended by kyocat1
  • Synopsis: Seconds after the Demon Emperor's assassination, the world falls into chaos unlike the peace he had hoped for. Post R2 continuation. After all, brilliant schemes like the Zero Requiem do have a tendency to go awry. Alternates between Kallen, CC, Suzaku, Nunally and Lelouch's point of view. Updates WEEKLY.

Code Geass: Mao of the Deliverance by Kleptographer of Alternates

  • Recommended by The Letter D
  • Synopsis: Set before and leading into the series. After Mao is abandoned by C.C. for refusing to fulfill their contract, he sets out to save her from herself. During his search, he faces several challenges as he struggles to survive in the harsh world around him; his methods becoming increasingly questionable as his desperation grows.

More than just a Man by Thanathos

  • Recommended by Gore17, delax
  • Synopsis: "What would you give up for power?" "Anything." "Your existance as a human being?" "Yes." C.C. is not a simple immortal, but a vampire. What will change if Lelouch was no longer human when he rose up against the Empire and his father? Probably a harem

I Heard The World by YamiPaladinofChaos

  • Recommended by Drakyndra
  • Synopsis: AU. A twist of fate, a different world, and a familiar war. Kururugi Suzaku wages a crusade against the Empire of Japan and Lelouch Lamperouge struggles to find redemption for his own dark sins. The future can only accept one vision of justice, my friend.

Code Geass Reverse by Kyogre

  • Recommended by R.G.
  • Synopsis: Based on a picture on Deviant ART, role reversal AU, Oneshot. Nunally is the older sister to crippled, blind Lelouch. Kallen is in the Brittaninan army. Suzaku is a freedom fighter, out to change the resistance.
  • Comments: An intriguing AU, to be sure. Worth a read or two.

Dauntless by Allora Gale

  • Recommended by Marlee Cross
  • Synopsis: Lelouch had been quite happy with his life. Sure they were living in obscurity, but he and Nunnally were safe. All of that changes however, when his identity is revealed and Lelouch is forced back into the fold of the Imperial family.

Changing Course by karndragon

  • Recommended by azul120
  • Synopsis: AU from R2 Episode 19 What if someone had picked up Lelouch after the betrayal of the Black Knights and changed the course of his destiny with the help from those he would have never expected.

Code Geass: Light in the Darkness by Sdebeli

  • Recommended by: GrieverVIII
  • Synopsis: Like always, it is the split-second decisions we make under pressure that have the greatest of consequences. Given a choice between seeing his beloved sister die and saving her at cost of himself, Lelouch vi Britannia made the obvious decision.

The Sum of Our Choices by Juubi-K

  • Recommended by: NotJMKeynes
  • Synopsis: AU. The Black Rebellion has succeeded, and Japan is free. Lelouch Lamperouge thought being Zero the resistance leader was tough. Now, as Zero the statesman, he must rebuild Japan, keep the EU in the war, and keep his personal life under control

Code Geass The Demon and The Dragon by Knightmare Gundam of Ni

  • Recommended by: KGON
  • Synopsis: AU based on what may be if Lelouch had a twin brother.
  • Comments: Similar to the author's other work, loaded with Technology Porn. Otherwise, it pretty much follows the general line of events with differences in the details.

Tropicana Slices by Nightsmoke

  • Recommended by Moberemk
  • Synopsis: After the fall of the 99th Emperor and one summer nursing a cold, Jeremiah stays home sick from Villetta's wedding. Introspective character study of Jeremiah as he stops to think about how two years have changed him.
  • Comments: A great Jeremiah introspective with some fascinating bits of the post-R2 world to boot. It's a very well-done oneshot, especially for fans of Jeremiah.

Passion by firelordzuko

  • Recommended by What Meme
  • Synopsis: Lelouch naturally is quite shocked when he finds himself in the Desert of Negev, 30 AD, after Zero Requiem. And why does that obscure preacher get the easy job - taking care of Nunnally - and Lelouch is going to get crucified in his place? Might offend.
  • Comments: Lelouch and Jesus switch places. Pure, unadulterated crack. The ficdom needs more of this.

From_The_Ashes by Tobi Tortue

  • Recommended by What Meme
  • Synopsis: 1200 years after the end of Britannia's Golden Age, history and archeology student Phoenix Zero studies abroad in Eastern America, exploring the long-lost Royal Britannian Cemetery. What he uncovers is only the beginning of the adventure.
  • Comments: Not sure what to say, other than I heartily recommend this.

Windhover by Muckraker

  • Recommended by Moberemk
  • Synopsis: Suzaku spends his days in opaque misery and his own brand of self-destruction. Somewhat unfortunately for him, Gino is not easily deterred. References to R2 Picture Drama 0.56 and the Rounds-themed light novel. Emotional constipation. Par for the course.
  • Comments: Seriously nice exploration of Gino and Suzaku's relationship. Well worth a read.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Awesomeness by Keith Fraser

  • Recommended by delax
  • Synopsis: Lelouch Lamperouge, genius, warrior, leader, lover, and all-around badass goes through his morning workout routine, inspects his vast collection of hi-tech weaponry and greets his many girlfriends. Parody of common fanfiction cliches.
  • Comments: Exactly What It Says on the Tin. This is a great little story that does not take itself seriously at ALL.

Pizza Delivery is Serious Buisness by sasahara17

  • recommended by Chaotic Novelist
  • Synopsis: In which Suzaku Kurugi learns the hard way that pizza delivery is serious business.
  • Comments: You know how much Pizza Hut promotion is in Code Geass? This fic takes that concept and makes a mock epic. There is just enough plausibility to make you think it could happen. Its hilarious.

The First Servant by firelordzuko

  • Recommended by msq
  • Synopsis: Faramond vi Britannia - son of a mother and no father. Long restrained by his uncle, when in the wake of a bloody civil war he is sent to Lord Gottwald's plantation, a brave new world of dark secrets, love, betrayal and masks is opened to him...

  • Recommended by Higurashiblood98

Decay by firelordzuko

This is a two part one-shot that is part of the upcoming fic, Code Geass: Liar's Dice. It focuses on two main characters from the fic.

Written by dear friend RingoPerkov and written/edited by myself as well.

Code Geass Liar's Dice is a reboot of Roanapur Connection, a crossover fic that was an attempt to flesh out the 90's in CG world alongside Black Lagoon.

Liar's Dice will be a prequel to Code Geass in general that will depict events that lead up to the main series itself, explore characters that flesh them out, explore new parts of Code Geass and flesh out parts left untouched or underexplored in the main series.

This one-shot explores the relationship between two people in the LGBTQ community, who during a time where many on the rainbow found themselves battling on many fronts. Legal for them to be in a relationship, but not to marry. A time where coming out had stigmas in many ways.

Yet that doesn't stop the couple in question from enjoying their spare time, their relationship in various ways. The bond they share, the way they can enjoy themselves after so many years. Means everything to them.

Fanfic / Code Geass: Cornelia of the Defection

Code Geass Cornelia of the Defection by draconichero21 is a For Want of a NailCode GeassFan Fic where Lelouch is captured at Saitama as opposed to CC rescuing him at the last minute. Cornelia, upon discovering him, decides to team up with him rather than turn him over to Charles, understanding his motives.

Directlyinspired byCode Geass: Lelouch of Britannia, this was a path draconichero21 believed could have been explored, but was entirely ignored by the anime. The idea of Lelouch and Cornelia teaming up has been explored in the writer's otherworks, but certainly not like this. The author also set the tone for how closely the series will resemble canon after episode 7 of the first season with two words: "What canon?".

The series had seven chapters before going on almost a year's hiatus before a new chapter was released October 8th, 2015 and draconichero is intending to stick to as consistent an update schedule as possible. Since then though the series has been on an unexplained hiatus that's lasted since November 2015. Apparently, draconichero misplaced his notes. In the intervening time, he's been hard at work on Fairy Without Wings.

This Fanfiction contains examples of:

  • A Date with Rosie Palms: Euphie admits to this under the influence of geass
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Schneizel asks Lelouch if he's talked to Nunnally at all about his revolution, causing Lelouch to backpedal, realizing things are all for naught if he doesn't have Nunnally's approval.
  • Ascended Extra: Guinevere. She was seen for less than five minutes of screen time in canon, but here she's shaping up to be Cornelia's FOIL. Would not be the first time.
    • Nonette could also count since she never moved or spoke in the anime.
  • Audience Participation: A poll is currently up to decide if Lelouch should reveal himself to Kallen as per the ending to chapter 7. The results of this poll will affect how chapter 8 begins. He does.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Linda Thorton of the Britannian army rigs her Knightmare into a bomb and takes out several members Cornelia's forces with her.
  • Big "WHAT?!": When Euphie states that CC is Lelouch's betrothed due to the latter's half-truth telling to her in Lelouch's absence, this is Lelouch's reaction.
    • In Chapter 7, played for much more drama than the previous example, Lelouch has this reaction when Schneizel tells him under the influence of Geass that Marianne's body was collapsed that made it look she was shot from behind, but all her wounds were from the front according to the autopsy.
  • Bolivian Army Ending: When cornered by David Darlton, Captain Marcus Lydon stands with his men and the scene cuts away. It is implied they're all going home in a body bag or less.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Nonette Enneagram. The narration even describes her as having a loose grip on reality entirely. And yet the woman is the Knight of Nine and is described by Cornelia as being the best Knightmare pilot Britannia has.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Schneizel takes to being Zero's prisoner rather well, though as far as Zero is concerned Schneizel is just pretending to act unafraid to throw Zero off his game. Unfortunately, Cornelia knows better.
  • Chess Motifs: It's a Code Geass fanfic. This should be obvious.
  • Child Prodigy: Marianne and Cornelia as soldiers given their respective origin stories.
  • Child Soldiers: Marianne and Cornelia both joined the military at a young age and both by choice, though the circumstances were widely different.
  • Defector from Decadence: The very premise of the fic is centered around Cornelia choosing to become a traitor to Britannia to help Lelouch get at the heart of Marianne's murder.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: When it comes to his relationships with women, Lelouch might want to keep his mouth shut if chapter 5 is any indication.
  • Double Don't Know: Done by Milly after Shirley asks if she's okay when Cornelia broadcasts that she's a traitor to Britannia.
  • Easily Forgiven: Sort of. Cornelia is obviously angry with Lelouch over Clovis’ death, but he holds a higher place in her heart since he’s Marianne’s son. If it had been another sibling, chances are they wouldn't be treated the way he currently being is.
    • Double Subverted with Euphemia. She actually slaps Lelouch when she finds out that he's the one who murdered Clovis, but ultimately winds up being okay with it.
  • Evil Costume Switch: Played Straight and Inverted at the same time. Cornelia switches into a black version of her R2 outfit when she reveals herself a traitor to Britannia, but it's inverted because Dark Is Not Evil.
  • Fix Fic: The series can mostly be seen as this given that Cornelia and Lelouch are now on the same side, as is Suzaku, which could keep Euphie alive, but time will tell.
    • Likewise, at Cornelia's urging Lelouch has already used Geass on Euphie, deliberately, so as to to prevent her from being caught by it accidentally.
  • Foil: Guinevere is one for Cornelia.
  • Foreshadowing: In chapter 3, Lelouch, as Zero, tells General Katase of the JLF to weed out extremist parties. In chapter 5, Kusakabe leads such an extremist party against the Lake Kawaguchi Convention Center.
    • In chapter 7 there is a lot of heavy-handed foreshadowing regarding Charles' Geass.
  • For Want of a Nail: Inverted. Cornelia is the nail being inserted into this story.
    • In Spite of a Nail: Though this doesn't seem to stop the Lake Kawaguchi Hotel Jacking from occurring.
  • Gay Option: Parodied briefly in the chapter 7 omake.
  • Have I Mentioned I Am Heterosexual Today?: Lelouch does his best to convince Euphie and CC of this in Chapter 5. Both to no avail and causing other problems. Until he kisses CC that is.
  • Have I Mentioned I Am Sexually Active Today?: Inverted. Lelouch, in chapter 5, tries to purport to Euphie that he's not having sex.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Cornelia at the very beginning.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: CC says this flat out when Cornelia suggests such a thing between her and Lelouch.
    • Played with in Chapter 5 when CC leads Euphie to believe that she and Lelouch are engaged and then Lelouch sets the record straight. Sortof.
  • Incest Subtext: Already creeping in, if you read too much into some scenes. Discussed by the author here in addition to Fan-Preferred Couple.
  • Internal Reveal: In chapter 7, Suzaku reveals to Lelouch that he's the Lancelot pilot.
  • Knight Templar Big Brother: Cornelia, full stop.
  • Little Miss Badass: Marianne's origin story is described as her taking on and overpowering way older soldiers in hand to hand combat while hungry before she then became a soldier and rose in rank rapidly.
  • Marry Them All: Parodied Up to Eleven in the chapter 7 omake.
  • My Country, Right or Wrong: Unless they show loyalty to Charles or are drunk on the Britannian Kool-aid, the remaining soldiers of Britannia can be said to be this. As opposed to...
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: The soldiers fighting for Cornelia in the confederacy have the utmost dedication to Cornelia and are willing to put their faith in her regardless of whether they feel the same. Some of them even believe that she is making the right decision.
  • My Greatest Failure: Cornelia feels very guilty about letting Marianne die and for failing to rescue Lelouch and Nunnally. This fic gives her a second chance for the latter. Cornelia even tells both siblings she will never leave them alone again.
  • OOC Is Serious Business: Downplayed. While Schneizel notes Cornelia acting kindly towards the Japanese is definitely not her usual tactics, he isn't as concerned about it as he could be. This comes back to bite him later when Cornelia and Lelouch take him hostage.
  • Properly Paranoid: Cornelia recorded her interrogation of Zero which lets her later learn there's a section she can't remember and deduce Lelouch's Geass (though without knowing what it was). She also makes Lelouch Geass Euphemia to do something trivial so he doesn't accidentally Geass her later.
  • Red Shirt Army: While the narrative suckers you into thinking that Captain Marcus Lyndon and his crew are being set up to be mauve shirts, they're this. Though, Major General Cervantes seems to have made it to Mauve Shirt territory.
  • Rich Bitch: Guinevere su Britannia.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Ship Tease: Lelouch and CC have gotten the most of this. He does kiss her in chapter 5 after all. And again in chapter 6.
    • Unless of course, you read too much into some of Lelouch's scenes with Cornelia.
  • Stealth Pun: In chapter 6 Lelouch gets shoved into a closet. Logic would dictate he can't stay there forever.
  • Taking You with Me: How Linda Thorton meets her end. See Better to Die than Be Killed above.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": Very apparent for Cornelia's relationship with Marianne and every interaction shown of the two in the past.
  • The Nicknamer: Nonette has one for practically everyone: Nellie for Cornelia, and Bizzy for Bismarck. The latter is not amused in the slightest.
  • Wham Episode: Who would've guessed that by chapter 6 Schneizel would be captured. This being Schneizel, of course, it's likely he's not going to be incarcerated for long. Word of God confirms this.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Nagisa Chiba, of the Four Holy Swords, gives this to Cornelia since her brother died at Saitama and now she and Cornelia have to work together.
  • You Are Not Alone: Cornelia makes sure Lelouch gets this message and swears not to let this happen to him again.
  • You Wouldn't Shoot Me: In chapter 6, Cornelia holds Lelouch at gunpoint in order to get him to confess to her about Geass and he calls her out on it. Cornelia turns it back on him saying Yes, let the terrorist preach to me about extreme measures. I'd love to hear this. However, as it turns out the gun was empty.
