[Top 10] Minecraft Best Cave Seeds (2020 Edition)

For those who don’t know what a seed is, we are not talking about the kind that grows food. No, we mean the great big number in the sky, that determines what your Minecraft world will look like and everything else about it when you spawn. Think about it like this, the Minecraft Gods literally took a seed, planted it, and up sprouted your world. That is what seeds are, only in this case, the seed is not an organic little pebble thing, it’s a number that gets put into the game’s mechanisms, and the result is your world. Now, enough of the technical stuff, let’s talk about cool stuff!

Seeds are sought after by players to be the best, most lucrative loot giving, and easiest to build on, so a lot of websites will have sections dedicated to having seed numbers. You could use anything for a seed, but if it’s not a number, the game turns it into a number. From experience, seeds that worked in 1.15 will look the same in 1.16, aside from the obvious Nether update, and ruined portals spawning all over the place, and I’m told it’s the same for 1.14 as well. Also, all positive numbered Bedrock seeds work the same in Java Edition, but not every Java seed can be used in Bedrock if that makes sense. Kind of like all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. These seeds I’m about to reveal have the best caves of all Minecraft and will boggle even the most experienced of miners. Be prepared to be unprepared for this. Let’s go!

Too many monsters!

Three is often considered a divine number, and you’ll find trinities and trios in many aspects of life, from mythology to traffic lights, to that crazy psychic’s alleged third eye. This cave is no different, with all three different types of dungeon spawners leading into each other.

Why use this seed

  • Plenty of opportunities for mob farming.
  • Think of what could be in those dungeon chests
  • Plenty of Mossy Cobblestone

Compatible with versions

  • Bedrock 1.16, 1.15, 1.14
  • Java 1.16, 1.15, 1.14

9. -302600233

My underground greenhouse

It’s a cave, under a mountain, in a flower forest, with a grass floor. You could live in this mountain! How cool does it sound to have a hidden base under a mountain? It’ll look like you terraformed the place, but really you did nothing. Plus, a spawner.

Why use this seed

  • Once lit up, this makes a great place to keep the mobs out.
  • Plenty of stone blocks to keep you stocked up
  • Skeleton spawner = bones, and bow and arrow farm!

Compatible with versions

8. -581736207

What part of "too many monsters" didn't you understand?

Three dungeons are great, but how about four! Yes, four! All in one cave! Two zombies, two skeletons! Your monster farming days are just beginning! And there’ll be, once again, so much loot you can get from the chests! I love myself some dungeon looting.

Why use this seed?

  • Two zombie/drowned farms, and two skeleton farms
  • Farther apart dungeons, so no awkward combining of farms
  • No spiders, because we all know how much of a pain they are to farm.

Compatible with versions

7. 6338394802327870500

Well, how's that for structures?

Imagine this, you are walking up to a ravine at x=1432, z=952, and you find an abandoned mineshaft. Always a happy moment. But then you go into the shaft, and you find a stronghold! All you have to do is get into the ravine, and you can do just that! Be careful of spiders and silverfish though. Bane of Arthropods anyone?

Reasons to use this seed:

  • Find the end portal quick.
  • Loot boxes! How we love them.
  • Make a base out of the structures! Sounds cool? We know.

Compatible with Versions

6. -2084759484

I could catch a big fish with a worm like that!

Now that’s a cave! It looks like a giant worm came through and ate away all the dirt and stone. Hopefully, it left behind the ores, seeing as we want those. And I hope it doesn’t come back for the villagers. Or maybe… it already ate some!

Reasons to use this seed:

  • Villagers are always good to have nearby.
  • Think of all the ores!
  • It looks dope! Yes. Dope!

Compatible with versions:

5. 1388582293

*FInds temple under his house, becomes a super hero* Welp, that's an anime if I ever saw one.

Don’t dig straight down under that house! Or at all if possible. This village needs to keep its stronghold in a better, less visible place if they don’t want all their stuff taken. But they didn’t, and it will be.

Reasons to use this seed:

  • No cave spider problem.
  • End portal room
  • Trade loot with the villagers. They won’t realize it’s their stuff.

Compatible with versions

  • Bedrock 1.16, 1.15, 1.14
  • Java 1.16, 1.15, 1.14

4. 262834868

Sadism is technically happiness...

Ever think to yourself, “Man I need some lava for my ‘insert project here’?” Well, you’re in luck, because this seed has a whole lava river right at spawn! There’s also a village and a desert temple! Let’s get that TNT and lava so you can burn and destroy happily and sadistically. Mostly happily.

Reasons to use this seed:

  • TNT for free? Sounds sketchy… Let’s do it!
  • Lava for days.
  • Or better yet, Obsidian for days!

Compatible with versions:

  • Bedrock 1.16, 1.15, 1.14
  • Java 1.16, 1.15, 1.14

3. 1803471699

We tore down half the portal, but left the other half to spite you with this netherrack and lava. lol

This is at 940, -318, not spawn. But get this, there’s a portal at spawn too! Plus this ravine has two exposed zombie dungeons and exposed diamonds! Talk about the jackpot! Oh yeah, and another village. Why do portals want to spawn so close to villages for some reason?

Reasons to use this seed:

  • Diamonds!
  • Portals!
  • And Villagers! Oh my!

Compatible with versions:

  • Bedrock 1.16, previous versions have no portals
  • Java 1.16, previous versions have no portals

2. 11122003

Let's get our arachnophobia on! That's the fear of spiders, don't 'cha know.

An above-surface mineshaft, this seed gives you not one, not three, but a whopping 7 spider spawners! One of them is a regular spider, the rest are all cave spiders. Plus, the portal at spawn leads to a Piglin Bastion! Amazing spider-pig seed!

Reasons to use this seed:

  • Infinite string!
  • Terracotta everywhere!
  • Who knows what awaits in the bastion?

Compatible with versions

  • Bedrock 1.16, previous versions have no portal or bastion remnant.
  • Java 1.16, previous versions have no portals or bastion remnant.

1. -23209558

We had no idea this town was built on top of a haunted castle ground!

This seed has a village that has a ravine that has… drumroll please, a stronghold. The End portal room is exposed, but not quite easy to find. It’s kind of camouflaged, so if that’s too hard, just go to the edge of the ravine, and there will be an opening where you can just waltz in.

Reasons to use this seed:

  • The village has a fisherman!
  • The ravine has a waterway down.
  • The stronghold might make an epic base underground.

Compatible with versions

5 best Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update seeds to play

After months of waiting, the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 1 update is officially out. The update has been released for all regions in both Bedrock and Java Edition.

A lot of players are going to create a new world in Minecraft 1.17. Players can use custom seeds with valuable resources and structures like villages, diamonds, strongholds right at the spawn location.

Using these seeds, players can get an early head start and progress faster. Here are some amazing seeds for Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Part 1:

Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update seeds to play

5) An amethyst geode deletes the end portal

  • Seed: 376166226
  • Version: Bedrock Edition1.17
  • Coordinates: 2238/32/39

Many players like to collect curse seeds, which have unusual glitches related to world generation. Whenever a new update drops, the chances of glitches are always high, and the Minecraft 1.17 update is no exception.

Bedrock versions are pretty famous for their game-breaking seeds. In this seed, an amethyst geode generates in the end portal room and deletes the portal frame. Obviously, this seed is bad for speedrunners.

4) Mineshaft inside amethyst geode

Mineshaft and amethyst (Image via u/Illustrious_Tour_681)
  • Seed: -66406848458700073
  • Version: Java Edition 1.17
  • Coordinates: -639/35/-416

Amethyst geodes are a new and beautiful structure added to the Minecraft 1.17 update. In this seed, players can find an unusual generation of a mineshaft inside an amethyst geode. As amethyst shards are a faint source of light, this scenery looks magical.

3) Snowy village protected by ice spikes

  • Seed: -5827076749818071175
  • Version: Java Edition 1.17
  • Coordinates: spawn point

In this Minecraft seed, players spawn near a beautiful snow village. This village is in a rare ice spikes biome. With early access to villagers, players can get tons of items quickly. Beneath the village, players can also discover beautiful amethyst geodes.

Players can also find another village in the taiga biome with spawners and mineshafts below the ground.

2) A snow village island

Snow village (Image via u/ricecake1111113)
  • Seed: -2109507520
  • Version: Bedrock Edition 1.17
  • Coordinates: 0/75/0

This seed features charming snow-covered islands. One of these islands has a small and cute tundra village at 0,0. Players can also find mushroom islands near this village.

In this seed, players will also come across different villages in a couple of hundred blocks from 0,0.

1) Double amethyst geodes

  • Seed: -2497213425330816112
  • Version: Java Edition 1.17
  • Coordinates: 263/40/79

Minecraft world generation can sometimes be whacky and create hybrid structures. In this seed, players can find two amethyst geodes connected at the chunk border. Usually, this happens due to two chunks generating amethyst geodes in the same place.

The 30 best Minecraft seeds for 1.17.1

What are the best Minecraft seeds? In my view, the best seeds are the ones that create fantastic worlds which capture your imagination from the first moment you set foot in them. And if you're looking for a good seed to help kickstart your latest Minecraft adventure, you've come to the right place.

Below you'll find no fewer than 30 of the best Minecraft seeds for 1.17.1. Whether you're after Villages, Bamboo Jungles, Island starts or whatever else, we've got the perfect seed for you!

The best Minecraft Seeds

Two villages Minecraft Seed

Two Villages

Seed: 8638613833825887773

This seed starts you on the border between rolling desert dunes and idyllic seaside grassland, with a village on either side where you can take refuge from the elements. Look a little further and you'll see that danger is on the horizon in the form of a Pillager Outpost. Perhaps this is why the two villages are so close together, to unite in defence against the pillager onslaught. If you want to connect these two villages into a small kingdom, you could make a wall between them. Line the wall with some towers so that you can pick off any invading Pillagers before they get close.

Coastal Village Minecraft Seed

Coastal Village

Seed: 3227028068011494221

You can see why villagers decided to settle here, right on the coast of the endless blue ocean in this marvellous Minecraft seed. Anyone starting here will gain immediate access to trees, food, and all the myriad tools and riches of the village, before either venturing out inland through the desert, or embarking on a voyage into the sea, perhaps on a search for rare Axolotls or other seafaring mobs.

Forest Village Minecraft Seed

Forest Village

Seed: 1777181425785

A squirreled away Forest Village next to spawn lends even more character to this already characterful Minecraft world. Imagine what can be built using this impressive mountainside as a foundation. From here you can overlook the entire forest, easily map out the land, and spot any dangers long before they arrive.

Savanna and Village Minecraft Seed

Savanna and Village

Seed: 12542

This friendly seed spawns you mere blocks away from a village, on the outskirts of a sprawling savanna biome. The hills of the savanna cut up the horizon line, giving you a fascinating and characterful landscape to explore, build, fight, and - let's be honest - almost certainly die at some point. It's a wonderful, idyllic starting point - particularly if you go in with shaders enabled.

Nether Rush Minecraft Seed

Nether Rush

Seed: -1654510255

A fantastic seed for a Nether rush, this seed plants you on the border between plains and desert, with two villages in sight from spawn, trees aplenty, and surface lava to boot. Think how quickly you could be delving into the Nether and all the dangers and fascinations awaiting you there - not least of which are the ability to gather Netherite and brew Potions to dramatically increase your power.

Pillager Outpost Minecraft Seed

Pillager Outpost

Seed: 2327370183894455166

By far the most dangerous seed in this list, you'll have to run like the wind to escape this Pillager Outpost mere blocks from spawn. Depending on the direction you run, you'll find either towering mountains (home of the goats) or lush greenery and forest (home of the bees), either of which make for an excellent base from which you can fight back against the Pillagers.

Beautiful Forest Hills Minecraft Seed

Beautiful Forest Hills

Seed: 3427891657823464

A stark, dramatic, majestic world of snow-capped hills and rivers ploughing through mountains, this truly is a beautiful Minecraft spawn location. It's locations like these that bring back that initial wonder of exploring your very first Minecraft worlds. I'd highly suggest listening to Minecraft's astonishingly nostalgic soundtrack while you play your first few days and nights in this seed. A wonderful place to plant down your Banner and create your new home.

Riverside Sunflower Plains

Seed: 9816485297234

A stunning riverside sunflower plains biome makes for a fantastic place to start building a new home. Why not also check out our Minecraft house ideas page to help plan out the perfect home in this idyllic land?

Extreme Hills Lavafall Minecraft Seed

Extreme Hills Lavafall

Seed: 321708923

At first this desert biome seems like nothing out of the ordinary. But venture just a little further from spawn, and you might catch sight of a spectacular Extreme Hills biome in the distance, complete with seaside lavafall that petrifies into stone as it hits the water. What a location for a grand Minecraft build, eh?

Ice Spike Minecraft Seed

Ice Spikes

Seed: -4186746847636013829

A great locale for a good fireworks display, this one. If you're after a truly majestic Minecraft spawn location, check out this extraordinary conglomeration of biomes. Frozen rivers and ice spikes are surrounded by acres of forest and grassland. Either stay in the forests and create your own woodland home there, or use the ice spikes as the foundation for a more unusual build overlooking the whole landmass.

Mesa and Cave Spiders Minecraft Seed

Mesa and Cave Spiders

Seed: -8427444967367737379

My love of Mesa biomes is matched only by my horror at seeing a Cave Spider spawner peeking out onto the surface right next to spawn. You'll have to steer well clear of that malicious cave mouth until you're prepared to clear out those pesky poisonous arachnids and win the Mesa biome all for yourself. I'd recommend enchanting your sword with Bane of Arthropods first! If you'd rather use your trusty axe, that can get the Bane of Arthropods enchantment too! It's a bit more tricky though, as you'll need an enchanted book first.

Extreme Hills Splendour Minecraft Seed

Extreme Hills Splendour

Seed: 189354817

This phenomenal Extreme Hills biome right next to spawn is the perfect setting for a sky-scraping castle or palace. Unleash your inner architect as you cast your eye over this marvellous mountain, and imagine what colossal build could be housed atop or within it. Just be sure to give yourself an easy way down into the grasslands and savannas below for a spot of mining or Amethyst-hunting.

Bamboo Jungle and Snowy Hills Minecraft Seed

Bamboo Jungle and Snowy Hills

Seed: 5672120378

A fascinating conjunction of very different biomes awaits the player who spawns in this Minecraft world. Jungle, plains, and snow-capped hills all converge around a beautiful Bamboo Jungle within spitting distance of spawn, giving you easy access to wood, stone, bamboo, and pretty much anything else you'd ever need to start a new Minecraft journey. A great place to build a new home using 1.17's Copper blocks; they'd look great next to all that green and white.

Bamboo Jungle Temple Minecraft Seed

Bamboo Jungle Temple

Seed: 9176963463659858407

Players who head south from spawn in this Minecraft seed will have to wade their way through a dense Jungle biome, before reaching a terrific Bamboo Jungle. See if you can find the nearby Jungle Temple to the west as well, as that will give players a great early game gift package to help get them started in this new world.

More Bamboo Jungle

More Bamboo Jungle

Seed: 8047404964767578727

Lovers of the colour green, this seed is for you! Bamboo Jungle weaves about regular Jungle to the north-east, while nearby grassland provides a break from the thick undergrowth when needed. I'd be tempted to pick one of the tallest jungle trees on the border of the grassland, and build a fantastic treehouse there to overlook everything below as far as the eye can see.

Bamboo and Lava Minecraft Seed

Bamboo and Lava

Seed: -1013382714437321718

A dangerous twist marks this world apart from others in this list. Spawn here and you'll find another excellent Bamboo Jungle reaching high into the sky next to the coast - but there's also a lava lake amidst all the bamboo and undergrowth, threatening to ignite the whole jungle unless you act quickly! Not a great place for open flames, really.

Bamboo Jungle Temple 2 Minecraft Seed

Bamboo Jungle Temple 2

Seed: 3376637928641427494

A seed fit for fans of Indiana Jones, you'll have to fight through the undergrowth of this exotic mix of Jungle and Bamboo Jungle in order to get to the gooey centre of this spawn experience: a Jungle Temple nestled snugly in between several trees, housing treasures galore - perhaps even diamonds if you're lucky.

Yes Another Bamboo Jungle Minecraft Seed

Yet Another Bamboo Jungle

Seed: -6772802442113209320

For true lovers of the newest biome added to Minecraft's overworld, this seed spawns you right on top of a Bamboo Jungle. The above is more or less exactly the view you're given upon spawning into the world. But that's not all! Head the opposite direction from spawn and you'll almost immediately see a heart-shaped pool filled with dolphins, right next to the endless blue ocean.

Ocean Monument Island Minecraft Seed

Ocean Monument Island

Seed: -3821186818805133221

This challenging island seed holds more than a few surprises. Step just off the precipice of this rock rising from the sea, and you'll spot an extremely close by Ocean Monument below the water, and an ultra-rare Mooshroom Biome on the horizon not far from spawn. It was also storming not long after I started on this seed, so you might want to consider putting up a few Lightning Rods to protect your builds if you plan to lay down foundations here!

Archipelago Minecraft Seed

Archipelago

Seed: 124014738

While hardly the most challenging island seed out there, this cluster of tiny Minecraft islands makes for an interesting start and a great building location. In fact, why don't I offer out a challenge to all builders, to construct one build on each island in the archipelago. Let loose your imagination when it comes to utilising the space given to you!

Island and Mesa Minecraft Seed

Island and Mesa

Seed: 3585869031427545926

This Minecraft seed spawns you right on top of a lovely, large, idyllic starting island, with plenty of trees to help you get started on your journey. Once you've got basic tools set up, you can choose either to make this island your home, or craft a boat and sail over to the staggeringly huge and beautiful series of Mesa biomes on the horizon.

Smallest Island Ever Minecraft Seed

Smallest Island Ever

Seed: -3115927715480771327

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the smallest island I've ever spawned on, composed of a grand total of three blocks. Right next to another island composed of a grand total of three blocks. Yes, this is natural, no commands or mods involved. But don't despair: to the west lies a large, bleak-but-beautiful Snowy Tundra that you can delve into to gather everything you need for the perfect Minecraft adventure.

No Tree Island Minecraft Seed

No Tree Island

Seed: -4199716164182889661

Dare you challenge this herd of cows for dominance of this remote and tree-less island? If not, then just follow the trail of tiny islands southeast and you'll see on the horizon just about the only island in this entire archipelago that houses at least a few trees. Venture just a little farther and you might also find the Ocean Monument nestled between three islands.

Forest Island Minecraft Seed

Forest Island

Seed: -4671266132020710557

A heavily tree-covered island on the edge of a warm ocean, with coral reefs, shipwrecks, and ocean monuments aplenty nearby. The largest of a six island archipelago, you may find everything you need here for a great start - but set sail to the northeast and you'll find a collection of treasures: a large village, a spectacular mountain range, and a Ruined Nether Portal. This seed strikes me as a great starting point for a tight-knit server of family or friends.

Endless Beach Minecraft Seed

Endless Beach (Large Biomes)

Seed: -1389577003656398696

A true beach, this one. Travel inland for your first few trees, then head back to the coast for a great building spot. The nearby lava pool is either an eyesore you can quickly cover over, or your chance to beeline straight to the Nether for potions and other underworldly delights. You could even grab some Soul Sand and Wither Skulls to challenge the Wither boss. If you manage to defeat it, you will get a Nether Star, which you can use to make a Beacon.

Frozen Wasteland Minecraft Seed

Frozen Wasteland (Large Biomes)

Seed: -7255571058704538969

A stark and colossal frozen wasteland provides a suitable challenge for the veteran Minecraft player. A challenge, but not an insurmountable one thanks to the presence of a tiny ravine right at your feet as you spawn, giving you safe and easy access to iron; and also the presence of a village not far at all from where you start.

Colossal Jungle Minecraft Seed

Colossal Jungle (Large Biomes)

Seed: 1405601600464054847

Oh, you thought we were done with Bamboo Jungles? This is the largest of the lot, and it's right at the centre of what might be the largest area of Jungle I've ever seen. Rivers and lakes carve a path through all the greenery - follow those paths and they may lead you to several Jungle Temples.

Snowy Mountains Minecraft seed

Snowy Mountains (Large Biomes)

Seed: -1832801519948573808

A wonderful and characterful mix of mountains and frost-bitten forests, this Minecraft seed is begging for someone to populate it with builds, tunnels, and creeper craters in the ground. A great start for animal lovers too, this spawn will set you down beside a pair of foxes and a cow looking after her two little cowlings (yes, I know they're calves - but cowlings is way cuter).

Endless Desert (Large Biomes) Minecraft Seed

Endless Desert (Large Biomes)

Seed: 1297970985505311939

This challenging seed slaps you in the middle of a gigantic desert. Can you save yourself from starving? Here's a hint: follow the north river, and you'll quickly come across not only a Desert Temple but also a village. Whether the food there will be enough to keep you from starving... Well, that's up to you. You might want to procure some horses to make your way across the dunes quickly.

A Minecraft screenshot of a new world created with the seed -1613247987266390429.

Sunny Savanna (Large Biomes)

Seed: -1613247987266390429

Savanna lovers, this seed is for you. Reaching far to the north-east past Deserts and Forests alike, this Minecraft world is filled with beautiful vistas. It's not perfect though; you'll have to gear up if you want to defeat that Pillager Outpost not far from spawn, and remove its blemish from the otherwise glorious landscape.

Well, those are all the best Minecraft seeds we've got for now; hopefully you've found one or two worlds that match up with what you were after. To give your new world more of a visual pop, there are various texture packs available. And why stop with just the world? TOP 20 BEST CAVE SEEDS For Minecraft 1.16 Bedrock Edition! (PE, Xbox, PS4, Switch \u0026 W10)

The best Minecraft seeds for Minecraft 1.17

Looking for the best Minecraft seeds to start a new adventure? Whether you're looking for a remote survival island, a quaint village, or some of the rare biomes, we've got some excellent seeds to spawn into. Whatever your purpose, the seeds listed here should have you covered. With the upcoming release of Minecraft 1.18, there's a lot to be excited about if you're thinking of returning to Mojang's blocky sandbox.

We've searched the Minecraft community and listed our favourite Minecraft seeds below. They've been split up into different categories too—survival, village, and biome seeds—so finding your ideal world should be nice and easy. There's also a handy section at the bottom for Minecraft Bedrock Edition seeds.

So what are you waiting for? Here are the best Minecraft seeds, as well as a quick explainer on how to use them.

How to use Minecraft seeds

Simply put, Minecraft seeds are a string of numbers that dictate an exact Minecraft world for you to load into. Before creating a new world, you can punch these numbers in to conjure up the particular place you want to explore, and creators share these codes online. You'll find a field to enter your chosen seed in the "More World Options" menu when creating a new world. Using a seed will get you exactly the same world generation as someone else who's used it.

The only thing you need to keep in mind is to make sure you’re running the correct version of Minecraft. Otherwise, your seed has a chance of not spawning exactly what you want, or being just slightly different.

Thankfully, it’s pretty painless to run legacy versions of Minecraft. All you need to do is open the launcher, click on "Launch Options" then "Add New." From here you can name it, and below that is a drop-down box with all the previous editions. Just click on the one you need, head back to the “News” section, and load up the version you need. Now, an in-depth look at the best Minecraft seeds.

Minecraft 1.18 seeds

Minecraft is completely shaking up its world generation when the second half of the Caves & Cliffs update arrives this year. Caves are getting deeper and mountains are getting taller. Right now, Mojang is testing out some very early versions of update 1.18 in what it's calling "experimental snapshots" before it starts releasing the usual pre-update snapshot builds.

Things are still in such a state of change that Mojang is tweaking how worlds generate just about every week in a new experimental snapshot build. That means we don't have a list of the best 1.18 Minecraft seeds for you yet, but the good news is that just about every 1.18 seed is super interesting. You can load into a random world on creative mode and pretty quickly find a huge ravine to dive into or a super amplified mountain to fly around.

Minecraft survival seeds

Minimalist Survival Island

  • Seed: 3366408241916580461 | Version 1.17

This pared-down setting might well inspire some soul-searching. Essential supplies are entirely nonexistent. Where will you find your first block of wood when the horizon is full of ocean in every direction? Be careful which way you choose to swim. There's an ocean monument out there, but will you see it before the Guardians see you? This survival seed was originally logged for version 1.7 but we've included the 1.17 view for you here. Still super minimal as far as Minecraft seeds for survivors go!

Castaway double shipwreck

  •  Seed: 7777777777988733304 | Version 1.16

This double shipwreck island Minecraft seed is ripe for a castaway survival story. You'll spawn in at the center of this small island, as if you've awoken from wrecking your ship on its shores. You aren't the first though. There's another shipwreck here too. Where might the unlucky survivors who came before you have gone? Through the now ruined nether portal nearby perhaps?

12-Eye End Portal Seed

  • Seed: 4776164391216949839 | Version 1.17

Minecraft seeds in which your world's End Portal generates with all 12 Eyes Of Ender already assembled and activated are extremely rare. You won't just stumble upon one by chance, most likely. Here's one you can load up to use for your own survival adventures. When you're ready to hit the fortress, head to coordinates X: 1146, Y: 63, Z: -637. Right beneath you is the room adjacent to a fortress's activated End Portal. Before you rush off to the dragon though, you'll probably want to hit up the nearby desert and jungle villages for supplies.

  • Seed: 110918009997 | Version 1.17

Nothing beats charging headfirst into a mansion with the intention of besting every Illager (not to be confused with Villager) that moves. But finding a mansion in survival is no easy feat. It’ll take hours of scouring every forest hoping that one day you’ll come face-to-face with that foreboding wooden structure. This mansion is helpfully right at spawn, and it's located inside an eerily heart-shaped forest surrounded by badlands. If the mansion isn't challenge enough, there's a pillager outpost at the other edge of the forest. Good luck!

Ocean Temple Island Village

  • Seed: 6039186344010446208 | Version 1.16

This island village seed looks like something that crawled right out of The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker. You'll spawn right in the middle of this idyllic little island village surrounded by ocean with several watchtowers and houses. It even has a small cave below the village where you can begin your mining operation. Lurking just outside the edge of town, beyond the wooden docks, is an ocean temple. This one would definitely pair well with the Wind Waker-themed option on our best Minecraft texture packs list.

The Township

  • Seed: 2083747154327962073 | Version 1.16.1

If you're looking for a Minecraft shipwreck to explore, it doesn't get easier than this conveniently unwrecked ship that appears to be docked in a village. It's right by spawn too, so you'll be able to immediately load up and start digging through the treasure on this helpfully abandoned and not-so-sunken ship. Hey, it might even make a nice home if you decide to move into town. As a note, the placement of the ship isn't as perfect if you generate this seed in 1.17, but you can certainly create your world in 1.16.1 initially and then play it in 1.17 after!

Four villages at spawn

  • Seed: -4379469131957062683 | Version 1.17

These four villages may or may not all live in harmony, but you can find out yourself right after you begin a world with this Minecraft seed. You'll spawn in on a cliff just to the west of the Taiga village. Three other village types: the Tundra, Savannah, and Desert are all nearby as well. You can almost spot them all if you squint in the screenshot above. Flip to the second image to spot them by their torches burning at sunset.

Double Village Islands

  • Seed: 5329177101860618450 | Version 1.16

Island villages are always a neat find, but how about two islands, each with their own village? Better yet, they're connected across the water. Even better, one of them is a zombie village. This seed sure seems ripe for a story.

Big Bamboo Jungle

  • Seed: -6007508716048973791 | Version 1.17

This seed plants you right next to a huge bamboo forest for you to explore if you haven't come close to Minecraft's panda mobs yet. You'll find the edge of the forest not far from spawn. If you venture around the outer edges of the bamboo forest you'll also find a small village in the plains and a witch hut over in the nearby swamp.

Ice-olation island

  • Seed: -452616212506859587| Version 1.17

Okay. So. Iceberg biomes are cool. Not only do they carry this weird foreboding feeling, but they’re great to build a home in. Who doesn’t want to live in an ice castle? What makes this seed so special is, like many seeds, you spawn on two tiny islands. Only with this seed, turn in any direction and all you see is ice spikes. You'd better think fast, because surviving this seed isn’t going to be easy. Try to make friends with the polar bears on the floe next door, perhaps.

Beautiful Badlands

  • Seed: 83539627 | Version 1.17

If you're looking for a big, beautiful badlands biome, you've found it. You're in for more of a challenge than that though, so don't get too comfortable. You'll spawn right at the base of these colorful mesas, right beside the opening to an abandoned mineshaft. Explore the nearby ravine and you'll find even more mineshafts, chests with treasure, and some spawners too. This seed gives you a great head start and a challenge to boot.

Giant mushroom donut

  • Seed: -6316420307748711466 | Version 1.17

If you want to chow down on one of Minecraft's rarest biomes, this enormous donut-shaped Mushroom island is the treat you're looking for. You'll spawn right on this massive island full of Mooshroom cows and towering fungi. If you head towards its center, you'll even find some underwater ruins beneath the surface.

The Minecraft title screen

  • Seed: 2151901553968352745 | Beta 1.7.3

After years of trying to find it, a group of determined Redditors finally found the Minecraft seed that will take you to the title screen's location. It's a historic moment in Minecraft's history and if you've always wanted to actually explore the blurry landscape behind the game's iconic text, now you can.

Now that Mojang have unified all the non-Java versions together as the Bedrock version, these Minecraft seeds will all work on your Pocket Edition Minecraft, Windows 10 version, and console versions as well.

Stronghold spawn seed

  • Seed: -160471485 | Version 1.17

If you want to make a mad dash for the end, this is a great seed to do it on. You'll spawn right beside a zombie village, beneath which is an end portal at coordinates (899, 47, 38). Before you head down there, you might want to go gear up by visiting the nearby savannah village just across the small bay from where you spawn.

Blacksmith island

  • Seed: 542630838 | Version 1.17

If you're looking for a nice island to wake up on, you can't do much better than this tidy village with three blacksmiths. That's a lot of gear to swipe right off the bat. Not only that, but this is actually a popular speedrunning seed. Your first target can be the abandoned zombie village on the adjacent island. The island you spawn on has a Stronghold and end portal beneath it. If you take a swim, you'll quickly spot several places where you can just dive right into the stronghold without mining a single block.

Biome Melting Pot

  • Seed: 2111844826 | Version 1.17

This Bedrock edition seed doesn't dump you right where you want to be, but trust us it's totally worth teleporting to. After you spawn, use the /tp command to send yourself to the coordinates (-185, 64, 117). You'll find yourself right at the edge of a mushroom biome looking across a very small ocean at a badlands biome, a jungle, some mountains, a tundra, and even some ice spikes. It's quite a lot of rare, desirable biomes all tucked into one area—perfect for anyone looking to sample just a little bit of almost everything Minecraft has to offer. If you head into the ice spikes, you'll find a tundra village not too far away too.

Source: /r/Minecraftseeds

Arctic Survival Island

  • Seed: 1669737730 | Version 1.17

If you really liked the look of that isolated arctic survival island seed for Java, here's one for Bedrock edition too! You'll spawn on this medium-sized island surrounded entirely by a frozen ocean and icebergs. There's more than enough trees and space on this one island to keep you busy, especially with several underwater shipwrecks and ocean ruins nearby. Once you've conquered all that, there are a few dark forests to find on further shores. You're rather far from civilization though, so don't expect to find a village unless you take a very, very long boat ride.

Shattered Village on a Scenic Cliffside

Best Minecraft 1.17 Seeds for Caves & Cliffs Update

Minecraft 1.17 mountains next to village

Seed: 495603 (Java and Bedrock)

This gorgeous Minecraft 1.17 seed spawns you in a savannah biome, but if you venture out a small ways to x=60, z=100, you can find an incredible cliff region, with a savannah village at its foot, and even some houses and farms perched precariously up top. At the peak of the mountain, you can also find some llamas, pigs, and sheep with nowhere to run, perfect for getting a breeding farm going. The mountain itself is actually two separate mountains, separated by a massive ravine with a winding river. You can find a convenient entrance to this river next to the village, at x=60, z=191, just to the right of the lava in the image above.

Travel around to the backside of the mountain to find a huge, dark cavern with plenty of monster to kill during the daytime. In the mesa, savannah, and deserts that surround the village, you can find a double ravine at x=-340, z=150, right next to a desert village with two horses to tame, and some gold horse armor in the blacksmith’s chest. Head out into the nearby jungle, and at x=1100, y=70, find yourself a jungle temple with SIX diamonds.

Massive Lake Enclosed by Every Climate

Baby Minecraft 1.17 villager outside house

Seed: 2111844826 (Java and Bedrock)

This seed has a little bit of everything. Normally, the game will try and generate hot biomes near hot biomes and cold biomes near cold biomes, but that seems to have broken a bit here. It’s a bit of a journey to reach x=-300, z=200, but once you reach it, you’ll find yourself surrounded by every environment you could possibly imagine. Jungle, mesa, mountains, tundra, and mushroom all border the same lake, with plains, forest, taiga, and even ice spikes surrounding those.

Out near the ice spikes, you can find a snow village at x=-740, z=-300 with plenty of resources to go around. Near the village at x=-700, z=-440, there is a ravine cutting under a river, so you can get some quick ores. Yes, it’s a bit of a walk to reach this beautiful area with all these biomes, but you’ll pass so much along the way, you’ll be better equipped to call this place your home when you arrive.

Outposts, Ravines, and Villages. Oh my!

Best Minecraft 1.17 Seeds for Caves & Cliffs Update

Pillager outpost next to desert temple

Seed: 3946378520 (Java), or -348588776 (Bedrock)

If you like natural structures, then this is the Minecraft 1.17 seed for you. Very near to your spawn, you can find yourself a pillager outpost, right beside a half-buried desert temple at x=150, z=250. At the east end of this same desert, there is a desert village that cuts into a plains biome, with a massive ravine cutting under it. Inside the ravine, there is one of Minecraft’s brand new amethyst geodes. The village unfortunately has no occupants, as it has been abandoned, but that just means you won’t feel as bad when you take all their food.

If you want villagers, you’ll have to go to the second village at x=-340, y=500. In terms of loot, there’s not much to go around, but you can trade and breed villagers to get loot from them instead. But who needs chest loot from a village, when right next to it at x=-500, z=500, there is a massive woodland mansion to raid anyway? Last but not least, head out to x=-780, z=120 to find yet another pillager outpost, this one with a ravine that cuts under it. This ravine contains a mineshaft with tons of loot, and numerous cave systems with plenty of ores.

Amethyst Geode in an Ocean Monument; Stronghold at the Entrance

Amethyst geode in ocean monument

Seed: 22582058908 (Java), or -2036761388 (Bedrock)

The spawn here leaves much to be desired, being an ugly swamp and all. Luckily, there is plenty to desire if you head south. The first thing you’ll pass is a ravine that opens into a mineshaft at x=1230, z=460, and another hidden ravine at x=1120, z=370. You’ll need to dig down a few blocks (very, very carefully) to find this one, but this ravine has even more mineshafts, plus some diamonds.

Continuing south, you can find your first of three villages at x=600, z=-380, with a witch hut right beside one of the houses. At x=50, z=-1150, there is an absolutely massive taiga village with tons of farms, loot, and villagers to trade with. Set sail for x=-1190, z=-1220 to find an ocean monument, with an amethyst geode inside it, right through the Elder Guardian’s room; not something you see in every Minecraft 1.17 seed. Even better than that, head around to the entrance of the ocean monument to find an exposed stronghold!

Three Villages and Way Too Much Loot

Best Minecraft 1.17 Seeds for Caves & Cliffs Update

Ravine next to village

Seed: 770405633 (Java and Bedrock)

Our final Minecraft 1.17 seed involves a lot less walking to find the cool stuff. At x=250, z=50, there lies a taiga village next to an absolutely gigantic ravine, that extends down to diamond level. The village is rife with resources, including plenty of iron, way too many iron tools and armor, three diamonds, beets, pumpkins, carrots, potatoes, horse armor, and enough obsidian to make a portal. On top of that, there are tons of villagers to trade with.

In the nearby plains biome, at x=120, z=-250, there is yet another village. This one extends into three separate biomes: plains, taiga, and mountains, and contains tons of haybales, a diamond in the blacksmith’s house, a saddle, and horses. Directly south of here, at x=-270, z=-320, there is a THIRD village to be found, this one having tons of horses to choose from. Not far from this village is a second massive ravine at x=-350, z=-230 that opens into a mineshaft at x=-390, z=-280.

TOP 10 BEST NEW SEEDS for Minecraft 1.17 Caves \u0026 Cliffs Updates! 4 God Tier Seeds and Amazing Spawns

5 best Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update pre-release seeds

Choosing a seed for a new Minecraft world can be one of the most difficult choices a player has to make.

A seed is important as it determines how a Minecraft world will generate, influencing how the terrain looks, how long it takes players to find structures like the stronghold, and how common certain mobs and materials are.

Seeds cannot be changed, which means the player should carefully decide which seed they want before loading up the world.

With the Caves & Cliffs 1.17 update coming out very soon, Minecraft players with the pre-release might be looking for certain attributes that are hard to find when using a random seed.

This list features five of the best seeds a player can use when generating a brand new world in the pre-release of Minecraft version 1.17.

Minecraft 1.17 pre-release seeds that players can use

#5 - Huge, Deep, New Cave

Huge, Deep, New Cave (Image via Minecraft)

Seed: -2340259456214783593

Notable Location: 362, -47, 388

In this seed, discovered by Reddit user Felipe_Con, the new cave generation that the 1.17 Minecraft update will bring can be seen in full force.

This huge cave system even has multiple abandoned mineshafts running through it, hopefully making it a bit easier for players to find rare resources in this expansive cavern. Surviving in this cave may be difficult, so this seed should be reserved for experienced Minecraft players.

#4 - Mushroom Villagers

Mushroom Villagers (Image via Minecraft)

Seed: -7015717559011046116

Notable Location: 11840, 100, 14544

First found by Johannes-k, this Minecraft seed has two rare spawns right next to each other.

Minecraft villages do not often spawn on their very own island. However, this is exactly what happens on this seed. The village island is only a few blocks away from a mushroom biome, which is the rarest biome in the entire game.

Mushroom biomes are ideal to live on since no hostile mobs will spawn there. The island is populated by helpful Mooshrooms that provide food to the player.

#3 - Freezing Cold Cavern

Freezing Cold Cavern (Image via Minecraft)

Seed: 8773952936846401873

Notable Location: 1460, 1800

Most Minecraft players have probably never seen a frozen cave in Minecraft. This unique 1.17 seed generates a deep cave directly underneath a frozen ocean biome. Frozen oceans are rare biomes with huge icebergs that spawn in the middle of the open ocean.

However, this seed steps up that biome’s rarity with a cave underneath that also spawns icebergs. This results in an astonishing and naturally spawning frozen cave. Players who wish to inhabit this cave can opt to make a unique underground base with this frozen waterfall.

#2 - Journey to the Center of the Minecraft Earth

Journey to the Center of the Minecraft Earth (Image via Minecraft)

Seed: 349518308

Notable Location: 4101 -47 4126

This seed has a cave with a huge lava lake at the bottom. Unlike the frozen, icy cave in the seed above, this cave includes large pillars of deepslate that give the lava lake an even more sinister look.

This seed is perfect for any Minecraft player who wants to build an evil super villain-inspired base far beneath the surface of their world. Of course, since lava is dangerous, this seed may be better-suited for experienced players or those who play in creative mode.

#1 - Cozy Cottagecore Mansion

Cozy Cottagecore Mansion (Image via Minecraft)

Seed: 3193661100541711506

Notable Location: 272, 120, -700

This seed is perfect for Minecraft players who want to simulate the feeling of cabin fever in their world (or Woodland Mansion fever in this case).

In this seed, players can find two of the rarest things in Minecraft right next to each other: an ice spikes biome and a woodland mansion. Though this may be difficult to tackle in survival mode, it might be worthwhile to play in such a unique location.

Also Read

From the top of the woodland mansion, players have a perfect view of the ice spikes biome, making the mansion feel extra warm and cozy in comparison. Of course, the player will need to eradicate the building of pesky pillagers first. In the meantime, though, a small temporary house (perhaps near a taiga village that is also very close to the mansion) can be built in order to enjoy the rarity of this seed and prepare to attack the pillagers.
