The 7 Best Roblox Camps for Kids

The 7 Best (1).png

Does your child love Roblox? Let me rephrase… What child doesn’t love Roblox? Roblox is an imaginative game that allows kids to explore and reach objectives. There is literally no better place to get a safe and fun experience with Roblox than in a summer camp. From mining games, prison breaks, shark hunting, and living in a community, Roblox has something for everyone, and we are big fans!

Gaming or Coding?

The first question parents need to answer as they sign up for a Roblox Summer Camp is whether they are looking for one that is strictly focused on gaming or one with an academic and coding focus. In Roblox you can both be a consumer and a creator of technology. I think there is a time for kids to build relationships, have fun, and simply play and explore in Roblox. So a gaming camp may be the perfect fit for your child. Typically gaming camps start as young as 2nd or 3rd grade.

On the other hand, Roblox has a really awesome creator package called Roblox Studio. In Roblox Studio, kids can actually build their own worlds. Many people eventually go on to create pretty extensive games that can actually make money. To get to that point, they will need to both learn to use Roblox Studio’s design elements, but also learn a bit of coding with a language called Lua. Typically Roblox Studio camps start around 4th or 5th grade.

No matter whether you want your child to have fun and make friends or learn a hard skill in coding, we have some great choices for you below. Click on the different programs and see which one is the best fit for your child.

7 Best Roblox Camps

1. Coder Kids

We highly recommend Coder Kids as the best Roblox Camp available online. Coder Kids offers live virtual camps for Roblox, both for gaming and creating in Roblox Studio. If you sign up for a gaming camp, students learn lessons on digital citizenship and leadership. Most importantly, students develop relationships with kids around the world who play Roblox. It’s good to know who your child is playing Roblox with, to know they are real kids, and to have that relationship start off in a camp with an instructor.

In the Roblox Studio camps and coding camps, Coder Kids focuses on building out real projects like obstacle courses, racetracks, and other 3d games. On top of that, students learn the basics of Lua from instructors who are studying computer science. The camps are affordable and high quality.

2. Galaxy Kids

Galaxy Kids is a Bay Area coding club that offers Roblox coding and studio design. Started by a mother who wanted her own kids to learn to code, Galaxy Kids now offers a variety of classes and clubs in-person and virtually. In their Roblox camps, students write real code and also learn foundational coding concepts. Their Roblox camps are typically about 2.5 hours/day and $250/week.

3. CodaKid

CodaKid is a subscription based company that offers virtual mini-lessons included in your subscription. Instead of online-live classes like you will get with many competitors, Codakid is fully on demand. The courses are self-paced, but they do offer live support and mentoring during PST business hours. They offer a variety of options in terms of classes, and their subscription costs $25 per month. You can also buy bundles of lessons that go together. Bundles of lessons are typically $99.

4. ID Tech

Year after year, ID Tech offers camps in a wide variety of tech topics. As a matter of fact, they might have the broadest range of tech topics among all camp providers. While their cost is high, the price tag comes along with meeting at a nice facility and more of a traditional “camp” feel. ID Tech has summer camp locations at over 150 Universities and they recruit their instructors from elite univeristies. If you have the financial flexibility and live near one of their locations, ID Tech does offer Roblox camps for kids in the area.

5. Lavner Education

Somewhat new to the scene, Lavner Education provides Roblox camps virtually and in a few places nationwide. Like ID Tech, they offer a wide variety of camps and classes at universities nationwide and demand a higher price as such. In person camps are typically from 9am-3:30pm, while their online camps are 3 hours/day. You can sign up for more than one online camp (held at different times).

6. Code Ninjas

Code Ninjas is a franchised business that has exploded throughout the United States, and you might have one close to you. Code Ninjas frequently offers summer camp options including Roblox camps. The Code Ninjas curriculum teaches kids to code by building videos games they love, including Roblox. If you have one near you, you might explore pricing and see if this camp is a good fit for your child!

7. Digital Media Academy

Digital Media Academy is similar to ID Tech and Lavner Education - they provide a variety of camp options throughout the United States. Students in these camps will create a single player game and a game built with a team in Roblox Studio. Their camps run daily from 9am -5pm, but at some locations they offer overnight housing for their teen camps at some locations.

There are a lot of great Roblox Camps for kids out there! In our opinion, The 7 Best Roblox Camps for Kids are:

  • Coder Kids

  • Galaxy Kids

  • CodaKid

  • ID Tech

  • Lavner Education

  • Code Ninjas

  • Digital Media Academy

Coder Kids offers the most affordable and largest variety of gaming and creataing in person and online Roblox camps. Depending on your location, budget and if you prefer in person or online camps, the other options we listed may be a better fit for you.

Assistant instructors typically consist of accomplished rising seniors. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable in the subject area, passionate about working with kids, highly responsible, and all have cleared background checks. Instructors go through a rigorous orientation and training prior to the summer camp season and have constant support from on-site camp directors and our central office. We put them in a position to succeed… and they do!

Question #4:  Do campers usually attend for one week or more than one week?

Answer: Campers are grouped by age and ability.
